Dr. Munnamalai completed her Undergraduate degree in Genetics at Rutgers University, New Jersey. She went on to do her dissertation at Purdue University in Dr. Daniel Suter's lab on the redox regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics in Aplysia neuronal growth cones. She then switched her fields for her postdoctoral studies to study inner ear development at the University of Washington, followed by a second postdoc in Dr. Donna Fekete's lab at Purdue University. Vidhya worked as a principal investigator at The Jackson Laboratory before moving to NBRC.
