Introduction
I, Mahima Kumari, graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. Thereafter, I completed an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from South Asian University, New Delhi. Currently, I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student pursuing my doctoral research in Biotechnology under the supervision of Prof. Sam J. Mathew at the Developmental Genetics Laboratory, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad. The broad theme of our lab revolves around studying the development, regeneration, and disease aspects of skeletal muscle biology. I am investigating the process of skeletal muscle formation during early developmental stages using mice as a model organism and induced muscle progenitor cells for both in vivo and in vitro studies, respectively. My skill set includes animal handling and maintenance, animal dissection, tissue cryo-sectioning, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, mass spectrometry, bacterial and mammalian cell culture, as well as fluorescence and confocal microscopy.
