Introduction
Prasanna Katti, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati. My research investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying muscle development, differentiation, and function. My group integrates developmental biology, muscle physiology, mitochondrial biology, and advanced microscopy to understand how cellular and subcellular organization shapes muscle development and homeostasis. A particular focus of lab research is understanding how mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum organization and communication are regulated during muscle development, adaptation, and aging.
