Introduction
Principal investigator since 2009 at IISER Pune in the division of Biology. Obtained a PhD in Biology at the Univ. of Heidelberg, Germany in 2003 working with Dr. Roland Eils on diffusion inside cells- modelling and image quantitification from microscopy. From 2003-5 worked as a Postdoc, MGH-MIT, Boston, USA in the lab of Dr. Thomas Deisboeck, Radiology at the Mass Gen Hospital. Modelled glioblastoma multiform (GBM) tumour dynamics using agent based approaches. From 2005-9 worked in Postdoc EMBL Heidelberg, Germany working on simulating microtubule polymerization dynamics in spindle assembly. Comparing simulations to experiments from Xenopus laevis oocyte extracts (ex vivo).
Over the past few years has developed a 2 part course in cellular biophysics. Trained multiple PhD and Masters students. Coordinates the IISER Pune arm of Biophysics Pashchim, a student chapter of Biophysical Society of USA.
