About

The IUBMB Focused Meeting on Synthetic Biology aims to bring together researchers from academia and industry working across different domains of synthetic biology to foster exchange of ideas. The themes are organised around a deliberate progression from foundational science through to real-world application: tools for synthetic biology provide the molecular and computational foundation; these tools are then applied to engineer synthetic cells and organisms; the programme moves up in complexity to synthetic microbiomes and communities, where the principles governing multi-organism systems come into focus; and the meeting concludes with the translational endpoints of biomanufacturing and bioremediation.
