The Organ Mechanobiology lab at NCBS is looking for Graduate Trainees/JRFs (1-2) interested in exploring a research career at the interface of cell biology, developmental biology, and tissue mechanics.
The lab uses C. elegans as a model to study how mechanical forces and biochemical signals guide organ morphogenesis and function. The lab employs interdisciplinary approaches, including tissue-specific genetic manipulations, CRISPR-based knock-in/out techniques, quantitative live imaging, and biophysical methods such as laser ablations, optogenetics, and microfluidics for high-throughput, long-term imaging.

Qualification required:

Final year BS-MS or Master’s students or recent graduates who are interested in the field of developmental mechanics.

Prior experience in a research lab (especially with C. elegans, imaging, or cell biology, quantitative image analysis) is a plus, but not required.

We are looking for students who are curious, committed, and excited about learning.

Priority will be given to candidates who can stay for more than one year.

Deadline: 30/04/2025

Those interested can send your CV, your past research experience, and a note about your long-term research goals to pritiagarwal@ncbs.res.in. Find more about the position here.
